Winmoore Lodge

I grew up on the South Coast of NSW (Warilla), I first got interested in greyhounds through a good friend Steve Bates, he had a litter of pups, so a few friends and myself bought one, he never made it to the race track. I was dead keen to get another one, so I did I bought an 8 month old pup for $300 out of the Greyhound Recorder. I've been hooked ever since.
So as a kid the family use to come to Canowindra for the holidays and I loved coming to the country, so back in 1999 we came up for a relative's 70th birthday party and while here I looked around for some land and found 20 acres, plenty of room to Race, breed and rear my Greyhounds.
When I first bought the place it was pretty rough,my father Ken and my brother Brett spent a lot of time up here on weekends, clearing old fences and rubbish. My dad and his mate Ted built the 14m x 7m shed for me (kennels) I had a three bedroom transportable put on the site and slowly built it up from nothing, we are still adding improvements now. I know we are 4 hours away from Sydney, but I would never move back to the Coast, it's a great place to bring up the kids and rear some pups. I started to play golf when I moved up to meet people and I have met some great friends.
You can't beat the country life.
People ask me how I came up with the name Winmoore, easy Town is called CanoWINdra and we live on MOORbel drive so thats how WINMOORE began.
